  • The Beautiful Game of Football

We were incredibly lucky to have five high profile football luminaries at our last Citrus when we had a panel debate about the beautiful game of football and its future.

Hosted by Mark Clemmit (BBC 1's Football League Show/Radio 5 Live), we were also joined by some of the most informed people shaping the sport including Terry Neill (former Northern Ireland, Hull and Arsenal player and former Arsenal and Spurs manager), Neil Ashton (Chief football correspondent for the News of the World), Charlie Webster (athlete and Sky Sports presenter) and John Scales (former England defender).

Topics covered were wide ranging and included the 2018 World Cup and the real reasons England won't be hosting the event; women's role in football with Charlie citing examples of just what it's like to work in the industry; wage caps and the implications of excessive salaries; the social responsibility of players and technology and it's role in the future of the sport.
